Regular Season Round 14: BSW Sixers - Iserlohn 88-89
Date: January 5, 2020
Important game to mention about took place in Sandersdorf. Tenth ranked Iserlohn (5-9) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Sixers (9-5) 89-88 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Iserlohn players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Naturalized American swingman Elijah Allen (195-89, college: NW Missouri St.) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bosnian-Croatian power forward Jozo Brkic (211-86, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Ferdinand Zylka (190-98, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Iserlohn and five Sixers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Iserlohn moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Oldenburg and Duesseldorf. Sixers at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. Iserlohn will play against higher ranked SSV Lok Bernau (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sixers will play against Titans in Dresden and hope to get back on the winning track.
