Regular Season Round 14: Baunach - Loewen 77-73

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Loewen (1-13) lost on the road to fourth ranked Baunach (9-5) 77-73 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Baunach made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Loewen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Marvin Heckel (190-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 4 steals. Moritz Plescher (195-0, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Baunach's coach Mario Dugandzic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Maximilian Kuhle (184-91) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Loewen. Baunach moved-up to third place in South. Loewen lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Baunach will face Giessen 46ers 2 (#5) on the road in the next round. Loewen will play against Fraport Skyliners II (#10) in Frankfurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
