Ninth-ranked Edremit (6-7) gave a tough game to second ranked Istanbul Uni (12-3). Istanbul Uni managed to secure only one-point victory 67-66. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Edremit. Istanbul Uni dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Edremit's 38. Canadian center Saicha Grant-Allen (196-95, college: Dayton) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and swingman Sugranur Sonmez (183-1) supported her with 17 points. Even 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals by Revaziye Donmez (-88) did not help to save the game for Edremit. American Jessica Jackson (192-95, college: Arkansas) added 14 points and 7 steals for the guests. Istanbul Uni maintains second position with 12-3 record having just one point less than leader Emlak Konut. Edremit at the other side keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Istanbul Uni will play against Sakarya Y. (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Edremit will play against Mersin Uni and hopes to get back on the winning track.
