Regular Season Round 14: Primorska - Helios Suns 84-66

An interesting game for Primorska (11-1) which hosted in Koper second-ranked Helios Suns (10-3). First ranked Primorska had an easy win 84-66. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Helios Suns. The game was mostly controlled by Primorska. Helios Suns managed to win second period 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Helios Suns to just 7 points in first quarter. Primorska dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Helios Suns' 20. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Bosnian swingman Aleksandar Lazic (203-96, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. International Jan Kosi (204-96) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Primorska players scored in double figures. Primorska's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Jure Pelko (190-90) replied with 19 points and 5 assists and Croatian swingman Davor Konjevic (198-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Helios Suns. Primorska have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Helios Suns at the other side keep the second place with three games lost. Primorska are looking forward to face Sencur Gor. (#4) in Kranj in the next round. Helios Suns will play at home against Krka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
