Regular Season Round 13: Siauliu - Zalgiris U18 88-68

The game in Siauliai supposed to be also worth to mention about. 7th ranked Zalgiris U18 (5-7) played at the court of eighth ranked Siauliu (5-5). Siauliu did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 88-68. The game was mostly controlled by Siauliu. Zalgiris U18 was better in third quarter 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Siauliu dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris U18's 28. Siauliu forced 20 Zalgiris U18 turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Arnas Kaupas (-2) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Martynas Cesnauskas (-2) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Guard Joris Mulvinskas (178-2) answered with 29 points and guard Arminas Puisys (192-2) added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Zalgiris U18. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Siauliu moved-up to sixth place. Zalgiris U18 at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Vilniaus KM II. Siauliu will play against league's leader V.Knasiaus KM in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zalgiris U18 will play at home against Kretingos SM (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
