Regular Season Round 17: Tofas - Fenerbahce 85-65

Second defeat of league's leader Fenerbahce (15-2) against second ranked Tofas (16-1) 85-65 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Fenerbahce. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Tofas forced 22 Fenerbahce turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Guard Batin Tuna (197-3) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Guard Ata Atsuren (190-2) contributed with 21 points and 4 steals for the winners. Five Tofas players scored in double figures. Center Ismail Karabilen (206-1) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and forward Yigit Onan (200-2) added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Fenerbahce. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tofas have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Fenerbahce at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tofas. Fenerbahce will play next round against Afyon trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Tofas will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Tesvikiye at home.
