There was no surprise in Izmir where 16th ranked Urla BLD (2-13) was defeated by fifth ranked Nesibe (10-4) 64-52 on Friday. Nesibe looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Patricia Bright (193-91, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international Busra Akgun (183-93) helped adding 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was center Basak Altunbey (189-96) with 17 points and Beril Arik (-94) scored 5 points and 13 rebounds. Nesibe moved-up to fourth place. Urla BLD lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Nesibe will meet at home Bosna 34 (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Urla BLD will play against Fenerbahce G. (#10) in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
