Regular Season Round 19: Bremerhaven - Rostock 82-79

Twelfth-ranked Rostock (7-11) was very close to win a game against second ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (14-3) on Friday. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected much easier game. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-91, college: Chaminade) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Kasey Hill (185-93, college: Florida) contributed with 24 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Tony Hicks (186-94, college: Louisville) answered with 20 points and swingman Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Rostock. Four Rostock players scored in double figures. Rostock's coach Dirk Bauermann rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-3 record having four points less than leader Chemnitz. Rostock at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hagen Phoenix. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven are looking forward to face Nuernberg (#4) at home in the next round. Rostock will play against Kirchheim Knights (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
