Regular Season Round 15: Dresden - BSW Sixers 101-97

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Sixers (9-6) against eighth ranked Titans (7-8) on Friday night. Visiting Sixers were defeated by Titans in a tough game in Dresden 97-101. Titans made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Titans outrebounded Sixers 56-45 including 43 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was center Georg Voigtmann (213-94) who had a double-double by scoring 32 points and 20 rebounds. American guard Eric Palm (188-87, college: McKendree, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Titans' coach Fabian Strauss used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and Croatian point guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Titans maintains eighth place in North with 7-8 record. Loser Sixers keep the third position with six games lost. They share it with Bochum and Bernau. Titans will meet at home higher ranked SparkassenStars (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sixers will play against Muenster and hope to secure a win.
