Regular Season Round 19: Nuernberg - Karlsruhe PS 82-79

Thirteenth-ranked Lions (6-12) were very close to win a game against sixth ranked Nuernberg (11-7) on Friday. Nuernberg managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lions. It was an exceptional evening for guard Sebastian Schroeder (192-88) who led the winners and scored 16 points. American guard Duane Wilson (190-94, college: Texas A&M) accounted for 8 points and 9 assists for the winning side. Wilson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds and center Maurice Pluskota (208-92) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Lions in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Nuernberg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Trier. Loser Lions keep the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Schwenningen. Nuernberg will meet league's second-placed Eisbaeren Bremerhaven on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lions will play against Uni Baskets (#8) and hope to secure a win.
