The game between third ranked Herner TC (8-4) and eighth ranked Goettingen (5-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Herner TC was defeated by Goettingen in a tough game in Herne 49-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Herner TC. Worth to mention a great performance of Irish-American guard Anna Kelly (168-97, college: Fordham) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds. Croatian forward Ivana Blazevic (184-93) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jordan Frericks (185-94, college: Missouri, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and the former international power forward Katharina Fikiel (195-87) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Herner TC. Goettingen moved-up to seventh place. Defending champion Herner TC dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Donau-Ries. Goettingen are looking forward to face higher ranked Hannover (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Herner TC will play against Osnabrueck SC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
