Everything went according to plan in Dudenhofen where sixth ranked Ludwigsburg (6-6) outscored 11th ranked Speyer / Schifferstadt (2-10) 78-55. Ludwigsburg dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Speyer / Schifferstadt's 28. They outrebounded Speyer / Schifferstadt 58-22 including a 43-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ludwigsburg players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Viktoria Krell (178-85, college: Lindsey Wilson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists. Canadian center Alexandra Berry (186, college: Acadia) contributed with 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Point guard Bianca Helmig (162) answered with 15 points and 4 assists and American forward Ashley Gray (185-96, college: Portland) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Speyer / Schifferstadt. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ludwigsburg. They moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Jahn Muenchen. Speyer / Schifferstadt lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Ludwigsburg's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Homburger TG at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Speyer / Schifferstadt will play against Weiterstadt (#7) and hope to win that game.
