Regular Season Round 15: Fraport SKY 2 - Loewen 94-81

Date: January 11, 2020
Everything went according to plan in Frankfurt where tenth ranked Fraport Skyliners II (6-9) beat 12th ranked Loewen (1-14) 94-81 on Saturday. Fraport Skyliners II had a 16-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Loewen was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Richard Freudenberg (204-98, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Nigel Pruitt (201-94, college: Kennesaw St.) helped adding 20 points. Pruitt is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was point guard Maximilian Kuhle (184-91) with 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists and Australian-British swingman Adam Thoseby (198-91) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fraport Skyliners II moved-up to eighth place in South, which they share with OrangeAcademy and Bayern 2. Loewen lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Fraport Skyliners II will face higher ranked White Wings (#7) in Hanau in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Loewen will play at home against the league's second-placed Wuerzburg (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
