Regular Season Round 28: Telsiai - Perlas 70-66

NKL top team - Telsiai (24-2) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat fifth ranked Perlas (14-12) in Telsiu 70-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Perlas. Telsiai made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Perlas 41-27 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Telsiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Tomas Rimsa (208-96) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-91) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Azuolas Tubelis (205-2) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Augustas Marciulionis (192-2) added 9 points and 6 assists in the effort for Perlas. Four Perlas players scored in double figures. Telsiai have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 24-2 record. Perlas at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Telsiai are looking forward to face league's second-placed Suduva-Mantinga in Marijampole in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Perlas will play on the road against Neptunas-Akv. in Klaipeda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
