There was no surprise when bottom-ranked ETB Wohnbau (0-16) lost to sixth ranked Hertener Loewen (10-7) in Essen 76-92 on Saturday. Hertener Loewen looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Dijon Smith (204-89, college: Ft.Hays State) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Mathias Perl (188-89) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) answered with 30 points and 6 rebounds and British power forward Radwan Bakkali (208-96, college: Indianapolis) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for ETB Wohnbau. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ETB Wohnbau's coach Bjoern Barchmann let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win.
