Regular Season Round 17: Blackbirds - Mustangs 94-63

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Blackbirds as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Rocks) loss. Blackbirds smashed 3rd placed Mustangs in Jennersdorf 94-63. The game without a history. Blackbirds led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Mustangs' 38. They outrebounded Mustangs 39-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The former international forward Sebastian Koch (201-88) stepped up and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and forward Christoph Astl (186-88) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Blackbirds players scored in double figures. Blackbirds' coach Daniel Muellner felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Julian Alper (180-0) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Nikhil Sacher (196-1) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Rocks. Mustangs at the other side keep the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Lions. Mustangs will play next round against Flames trying to get back on the winning streak. Blackbirds will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Nord Dragonz at Eisenstadt.
