Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked TV Langen (8-7) defeated on the road 9th ranked Giessen Pointers (6-9) 104-97 on Saturday. TV Langen made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Giessen Pointers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Christopher Edward (201, college: Concordia, OR) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Ruben Spoden (202-89) contributed with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four TV Langen players scored in double figures. American forward Tyrell Sturdivant (201-95, college: Stony Brook) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Lucas Mayer (183-99) added 32 points in the effort for Giessen Pointers. Giessen Pointers' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for TV Langen. They moved-up to fourth place in South-West, which they share with Fellbach and Idstein. Loser Giessen Pointers keep the ninth position with nine games lost. TV Langen will have a break next round. Giessen Pointers will play on the road against Idstein (#4) and hope to win that game.
