There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Rendsburg (3-10) won against higher ranked Bergedorf (4-9) in Hamburg 76-63 on Saturday. It was a good game for American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: CBU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Lithuanian center Paulius Sakinis (203-95, college: Peru St., agency: Players Group) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Joscha Kolnisko (200-90) answered with 8 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Ghanian power forward Paul Owusu-Frimpong (199-86) added 10 points in the effort for Bergedorf. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rendsburg maintains twelfth place in North with 3-10 record. Loser Bergedorf dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Rendsburg will face league's leader ETV in Hamburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
