Regular Season Round 14: Adana Basket - Canik Belediye 88-62

Bottom-ranked Canik Belediye (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-62 loss to tenth ranked Adana Basket (5-8) in Adana on Saturday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Canik Belediye's 14. Adana Basket forced 19 Canik Belediye turnovers and outrebounded them 46-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American center Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Latvian point guard Elina Dikaioulaku (173-89) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists during the contest. American guard Rebecca Harris (173-86, college: Illinois) responded with 18 points and Aysu Keskin scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Adana Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Hatay. Loser Canik Belediye still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Adana Basket will meet league's leader Fenerbahce in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Canik Belediye will play against Hatay (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
