Regular Season Round 17: Galatasaray - Tofas 94-105

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Tofas (16-1) defeated 6th ranked Galatasaray (8-9) in Istanbul 105-94 on Saturday. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 32. It was a great shooting night for Tofas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Forward Temel Keskindemir (205-1) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Guard Bora Satir (190-2) contributed with 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. Emir Oflaz (-2) answered with 18 points and Enes Alaybeyoglu (-2) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Galatasaray. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Tofas. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Galatasaray dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Tofas will face Tesvikiye (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Galatasaray will play against Banvit in Bandirma and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
