Very important is a road loss of second ranked Itzehoe (10-5) against tenth ranked Oldenburg (6-9) on Saturday night. Visiting Itzehoe was defeated by Oldenburg in a tough game in Oldenburg 80-85. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Itzehoe. Oldenburg made 30-of-34 charity shots (88.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Itzehoe turnovers. Itzehoe was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Bosnian point guard Robert Drijencic (194-96) who led the winners and scored 27 points. Point guard Jacob Hollatz (191-98) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. American power forward Chris Hooper (198-91, college: St.Francis, NY) came up with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian-Bosnian forward Marko Boksic (201-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for Itzehoe in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Oldenburg moved-up to ninth place in North. Itzehoe at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Oldenburg will play against higher ranked SSV Lok Bernau (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Itzehoe will play against Iserlohn and hopes to get back on the winning track.
