Regular Season Round 15: Spartak Pleven - Cherno More 85-87

The most exciting game of round 15 in the NBL took place in Pleven. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Spartak Pleven (3-12) to sixth ranked Cherno More (6-9) 87-85 on Saturday evening. Cherno More dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 32. It was a good game for power forward Nikolay Georgiev (205-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). American guard Jimmy Gavin (191-91, college: Winthrop) contributed with 26 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Konstantin Koev (196-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Tsvetoslav Ostrev (175-86) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Spartak Pleven. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cherno More maintains sixth place with 6-9 record. Spartak Pleven at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Cherno More are looking forward to face higher ranked Academik Plovdiv (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Pleven will play against Chernomorets in Burgas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
