Regular Season Round 19: Juventus - Rytas 83-81

The most exciting game of round 19 in the LKL took place in Utena. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Rytas (12-6) to fifth ranked Juventus (10-7) 83-81 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Rytas. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) helped adding 12 points and 4 assists. At the losing side Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (191-89, college: Wyoming) responded with 17 points and 5 assists and international power forward Martynas Echodas (205-97) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rytas' coach Dainius Adomaitis tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Juventus moved-up to fourth place. Rytas at the other side keeps the second position with six games lost. They share it with Lietkabelis. Juventus are looking forward to face league's second-placed Lietkabelis in Panevezys in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rytas will play at home against Neptunas and is hoping to win this game.
