Regular Season Round 14: Hatay - Cukurova 54-63

We should mention about the upset which took place in Hatay, where 9th ranked Hatay (5-8) lost at home to twelfth ranked Cukurova (4-9) 54-63. Cukurova outrebounded Hatay 48-27 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international LaToya Sanders (191-86, college: UNC) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Belarusian-American point guard Alex Bentley (170-90, college: Penn St.) supported her with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Haley Peters (190-92, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Hatay. International guard Asena Yalcin (170-91) added 12 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Cukurova moved-up to eleventh place. Hatay at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Cukurova's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Ormanspor in Ankara and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
