Regular Season Round 15: Rist Wedel - Duesseldorf 80-66
Date: January 12, 2020
Rather predictable result when seventh ranked SC Rist Wedel (8-7) defeated at home 11th ranked Duesseldorf (5-10) 80-66 on Sunday. Strangely Duesseldorf outrebounded SC Rist Wedel 43-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American point guard Jalen Ross (183-93, college: Hartford) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Alexander Angerer (203-96) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Faton Jetullahi (188-94) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and American-Moroccan power forward John Wilkins (207-89, college: Illinois St., agency: Promotex) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Muenster. Newly promoted Duesseldorf dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face RSV Eintracht (#12) in Stahnsdorf in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Duesseldorf will play at home against the league's leader SG Schwelmer Baskets and hope to win that game.
