Regular Season Round 15: EBAA - Amager 86-78

Rather expected game in Aarhus where 5th ranked Amager BK (1-12) was defeated by third ranked EBAA (3-11) 86-78 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Amager BK won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. EBAA looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Keane Thomann (211-89, college: Missouri So.) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Anton Harbo (193-0) chipped in 23 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four EBAA players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Jonathan Klussmann (190-2) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Robert Fields (184-88, college: Catawba) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. EBAA maintains third place with 3-11 record having four points less than leader Horsens IC. Amager BK lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. EBAA will meet at home Svendborg (#4) in the next round. Amager BK will play against the league's second-placed Vaerlose and hope to win that game.
