Important game to mention about took place in Loewen. Third ranked B.Loewen (7-3) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (5-5) 67-64 on Sunday evening. B.Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rotenburg/Scheessel's 28 and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American point guard Kristina Puthoff-King (180-92, college: Richmond) nailed a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (made all of her eight free throws) for the winning side and her fellow American import guard Porsche Poole (172-89, college: Michigan St.) accounted for 17 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Puthoff-King is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Canadian forward Becky Nash (193-94, college: MCC Toronto) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and forward Hannah Pakulat (181-94) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Rotenburg/Scheessel in the defeat. Four Rotenburg/Scheessel players scored in double figures. B.Loewen have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Opladen. Rotenburg/Scheessel at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Gruenberg. B.Loewen will play against ALBA Berlin (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play against the league's leader Braunschweig (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
