Regular Season Round 15: Giessen 46ers 2 - Baunach 94-62

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Baunach (9-6) against fifth ranked Giessen 46ers 2 (9-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Baunach was crushed by Giessen 46ers 2 in Giessen 94-62. Giessen 46ers 2 made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Giessen 46ers 2 outrebounded Baunach 39-12 including a 30-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Baunach's players. It was a good game for the former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Guard Tim Koepple (182-0, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Giessen 46ers 2's coach Rolf Scholz felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nicholas Tischler (198-0) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Elias Baggette (185-2) added 18 points and 5 assists in the effort for Baunach. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Giessen 46ers 2 moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with defeated Baunach. Giessen 46ers 2's next round opponent will be Oberhaching (#11) in Deisenhofen and are hoping to win another game. Baunach will play at home against the league's leader Elchingen (#1) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
