A very interesting game took place in Giessen. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 14th ranked Giessen 46ers (4-10) to sixteenth ranked Telekom Baskets (3-12) 88-85 on Saturday evening. Telekom Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Giessen 46ers' 24. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Telekom Baskets brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. American center Alec Brown (216-92, college: Green Bay) fired 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Montenegrin forward Bojan Subotic (203-90) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Telekom Baskets' coach Thomas Paech allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center John Bryant (211-87, college: Santa Clara) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import Matt Tiby (203-92, college: Milwaukee) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Telekom Baskets moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Hamburg. Giessen 46ers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with ten games lost. Telekom Baskets' next round opponent will be league's leader Bayern Muenchen on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
