Second Stage Round 1: Targu Mures - Agronomia 72-61

There was a minor upset when Agronomia (5-4) was defeated on the road by Targu Mures (5-2) 72-61 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. Targu Mures forced 22 Agronomia turnovers and had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Brittney Dunbar (173-93, college: Weber St.) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals for the winners and Cristina Badi (178-93) chipped in 21 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side the former international forward Anca Sipos (185-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and guard Sonia Vilcinschi (175-96) scored 22 points. Agronomia's coach Milan Sokic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Targu Mures will face Alexandria (#13) at home in the next round. Agronomia will play against Oradea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
