Regular Season Round 15: Cukurova - OGM Orman 86-67

The game between second ranked Ormanspor (11-3) and eleventh ranked Cukurova (5-9) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Ormanspor was crushed by Cukurova in Mersin 67-86. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ormanspor. Cukurova looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for Belarusian-American point guard Alex Bentley (170-90, college: Penn St.) who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Brittney Sykes (175-94, college: Syracuse) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Cukurova's coach Ceyhun Yildizoglu used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Montenegrin-American forward Angelica Robinson (197-87, college: Georgia) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Nilay Kartaltepe (172-79) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Ormanspor. Five Cukurova and four Ormanspor players scored in double figures. Cukurova moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Adana Basket. Ormanspor at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Galatasaray. Cukurova is looking forward to face Botas (#12) in Adana in the next round. Ormanspor will play at home against Canik Belediye (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
