Very important is a road loss of second ranked Wuerzburg (12-4) against twelfth ranked Loewen (2-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Wuerzburg was defeated by Loewen in Erfurt 104-91. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Wuerzburg. Loewen shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian-British swingman Adam Thoseby (198-91) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Point guard Maximilian Kuhle (184-91) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Lithuanian forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) replied with 27 points and 8 rebounds and forward Julian Albus (191-92) added 17 points in the effort for Wuerzburg. Four Loewen and five Wuerzburg players scored in double figures. Loewen maintains twelfth position in South with 2-14 record. Wuerzburg at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Loewen will play against higher ranked White Wings (#7) in Hanau in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Wuerzburg will play at home against Oberhaching (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
