Regular Season Round 16: Brose Bask. - Vechta 85-86

Another exciting game for SC Rasta Vechta (9-6) which played in Bamberg against Brose Baskets (8-7). Seventh ranked SC Rasta Vechta eked out just a narrow 1-point road win over Brose Baskets 86-85. Strangely Brose Baskets outrebounded SC Rasta Vechta 37-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: UNCG, agency: 3Eye) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and the other American import guard Steve Vasturia (196-95, college: Notre Dame) who added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international center Elias Harris (203-89, college: Gonzaga) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and international forward Christian Sengfelder (203-95, college: Boise St.) scored 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. SC Rasta Vechta moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Wuerzburg. Brose Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Ratiopharm. SC Rasta Vechta will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#13) in Frankfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brose Baskets will play on the road against Braunschweig (#11) and hope to get back on the winning track.
