Regular Season Round 20: Dzukija - Nevezis 86-87

Important game to mention about took place in Alytus. Eighth ranked Nevezis (6-13) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Dzukija (5-13) 87-86 on Sunday evening. Dzukija was ahead by 11 points after three quarters before a 26-14 charge of Nevezis, which allowed them to win the game. Point guard Laurynas Beliauskas (192-97) saved the victory by scoring 17 points and 6 assists. Forward Julius Kazakauskas (196-90) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Nevezis' coach Marius Kiltinavicius allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Chauncey Collins (183-95, college: TCU, agency: Alti Sport) replied with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import guard Gabe DeVoe (190-95, college: Clemson) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Dzukija. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nevezis moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Siauliai. Dzukija at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. Nevezis will play against higher ranked Juventus (#4) in Utena in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dzukija will play on the road against Neptunas (#5) in Klaipeda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
