Regular Season Round 9: Essen Ruhr - Jena 61-100

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Jena (4-5) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Essen Ruhr (0-9) 100-61 on Sunday. Jena looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Lorenz Bank (187-1) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Serbian point guard Vuk Radojicic (185-1) chipped in 31 points. The best for the losing side was Lennard Kaprolat (187-2) with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Luca Michels (183-2) scored 19 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jena moved-up to fifth place in A North, which they share with Berlin AB Bsk. Essen Ruhr lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Jena will face Young Dragons (#7) in Quakenbrueck in the next round. Essen Ruhr will play on the road against Piraten in Hamburg and hopes to get finally their first victory.
