Very important is a road loss of second ranked Akademie Muenchen (5-2) against sixth ranked Bamberg/Breit. (4-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Akademie Muenchen was defeated by Bamberg/Breit. in Breitenguessbach 83-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Akademie Muenchen. Bamberg/Breit. made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Akademie Muenchen outrebounded Bamberg/Breit. 33-18 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for point guard Elias Baggette (185-2) who led his team to a victory with 30 points, 8 assists and 8 steals (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Jekabs Beck (205-1) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Bamberg/Breit. players scored in double figures. Guard Bent Leuchten (212-2) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and Tristan Da-Silva (203-1) added 25 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Akademie Muenchen. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bamberg/Breit. maintains sixth place in A South with 4-6 record. Akademie Muenchen at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Bamberg/Breit.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Ludwigsburg BBA on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
