Regular Season Round 9: Koeln RS - Trier YG 81-58

Everything went according to plan when third ranked RheinStars Koeln (5-4) outscored at home bottom-ranked Trier YG (0-9) 81-58 on Sunday. RheinStars Koeln dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Trier YG's 26. RheinStars Koeln forced 26 Trier YG turnovers and outrebounded them 49-27 including a 26-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. RheinStars Koeln looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Tom Koenigstein (203-1) stepped up and scored 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Greek Nikolaos Andreadis (195-96) chipped in 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Markus Zock (205-2) with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Tom Demmer (183-3) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. RheinStars Koeln maintains third place in B South-West with 5-4 record having four points less than leader Ludwigsburg BBA. Trier YG lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with nine games lost. RheinStars Koeln will face league's second-placed OrangeAcademy in Allgau/Memmingen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Trier YG will play at home against Bonn/Rh. (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
