Very important is a road loss of third ranked Mardin BSB (12-5) against eleventh ranked Mersin Uni (7-11) on Tuesday night. Visiting Mardin BSB was edged by Mersin Uni in a tough game in Mersin 71-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mardin BSB. Mersin Uni looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Dekeiya Cohen (188-96, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Ilknur Yildizhan (186-96) chipped in 6 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Dejza James (185-95, college: Arizona) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds and forward Betul Pehlivan (178-88) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Mersin Uni moved-up to tenth place. Loser Mardin BSB dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Bayrakli. Mersin Uni will meet higher ranked Nesibe (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mardin BSB will play against Bursa BSB and hope to secure a win.
