Rather expected game when 15th ranked Yalova Vip (3-13) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Botas (6-10) 89-75. Botas outrebounded Yalova Vip 50-31 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 20 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Point guard Senay Zeybek (160-1) contributed with 19 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Botas' coach Cemal Gozeneli allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Merve Usal (-94) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 assists and American guard JKyra Brown (180, college: Virginia) added 21 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in the effort for Yalova Vip. Four Yalova Vip players scored in double figures. Botas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Fenerbahce G. Yalova Vip lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. Botas' next round opponent will be league's leader Emlak Konut and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yalova Vip will play against Edremit (#7) in Balikesir and hope to win that game.
