There was no surprise when 7th ranked Lemvig (2-13) was defeated on the road by third ranked Herlev (7-7) 71-63 on Saturday. Lemvig trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 15-10 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 63-71 at the end of the game. Herlev made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Lemvig only scored one point from the stripe. The best player for the winners was international forward Ellen Iversen (180-97) who scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Luka Lachenmeier (173-2) chipped in 18 points. Herlev's coach Sam Tamargo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Maddie Dackin (175-96, college: Ashland) produced 13 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and the other American import guard Kali Koenig (168-95, college: Mobile, AL) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Four Lemvig players scored in double figures. Herlev maintains third place with 7-7 record having seven points less than leader Horsholm, which they share with Aabyhoj. Loser Lemvig stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Herlev is looking forward to face Aabyhoj (#4) at home in the next round. Lemvig will have a break next round.
