Rather expected game in Salzburg where 9th ranked BBU (6-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Worthersee Piraten (11-9) 82-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Worthersee Piraten led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to BBU's 30. Slovenian forward Simon Finzgar (196-80) fired 23 points for the winners. Forward Christof Gspandl (198-97) chipped in 20 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Worthersee Piraten's coach Goran Jovanovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Spanish forward Guillermo Sanchez (200-91) produced 26 points and 6 rebounds and Japanese point guard Kazuhiko Yokoyama (170-95) added 12 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Worthersee Piraten maintains sixth place with 11-9 record. BBU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with KOS. Worthersee Piraten will meet at home Raiders Tirol (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BBU will play against the league's leader Rocks and hope to secure a win.
