Regular Season Round 16: OGM Orman - Canik Belediye 115-66

Bottom-ranked Canik Belediye (0-15) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 15th consecutive match to second ranked Ormanspor (12-3) 115-66 on Saturday evening. Ormanspor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Canik Belediye's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Canik Belediye's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Arike Ogunbowale (173-97, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Damla Gezgin (175-90) who added 22 points during the contest. Five Ormanspor players scored in double figures. Ormanspor's coach Alper Durur felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Stephanie Madden (186-88, college: Langston) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!) and Aysu Keskin scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Ormanspor maintains second position with 12-3 record behind leader Fenerbahce. Canik Belediye at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Ormanspor are looking forward to face league's leader Fenerbahce in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Canik Belediye will play at home against Botas (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
