Regular Season Round 17: Neustadt TSV - Bramsche TuS 80-75

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Neustadt TSV (9-6) beat at home 10th ranked Bramsche TuS (5-10) 80-75 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Neustadt TSV forced 20 Bramsche TuS turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Abdulai Abaker (186-96) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. American-Jamaican center Brandon McLean (201-95, college: Huntingdon) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Neustadt TSV players scored in double figures. American swingman Kendall Timmons (195-90, college: Tulane) produced 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and British forward Jonathan Foulds (197-93) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Neustadt TSV maintains sixth place in North with 9-6 record. Newly promoted Bramsche TuS dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Neustadt TSV will face Rendsburg (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bramsche TuS will play against Stade and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
