Regular Season Round 17: ITU BB - Tofas 80-91

Very expected game in Istanbul where 16th ranked ITU BB (1-16) was defeated by fifth ranked Tofas (12-5) 91-80 on Saturday. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by ITU BB's players. American swingman Rion Brown (197-91, college: Miami, FL) stepped up and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and international point guard Berk Ugurlu (192-96) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Tofas' coach Orhun Ene used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Matt Mobley (190-94, college: St.Bonaventure) responded with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Archie Goodwin (196-94, college: Kentucky, agency: Inception Sports) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Tofas and four ITU BB players scored in double figures. Tofas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Galatasaray. ITU BB lost twelfth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Tofas will face Gaziantep (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ITU BB's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Darussafaka.
