Second Stage Round 1: Bandirma - Darussafaka 79-70

There was no surprise in Bandirma where Darussafaka (3-8) was defeated by Banvit (5-6) 79-70 on Saturday. Banvit forced 25 Darussafaka turnovers. Strangely Darussafaka outrebounded Banvit 47-34 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Atakan Erdek (192-1) stepped up and scored 30 points and 4 assists for the winners and guard Onder Atun (192-1) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Four Banvit players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Mahmut Celik (206-1) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Efe Sarica (190-2) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Banvit will meet Gaziantep (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Darussafaka will play against Tofas and hope to secure a win.
