Regular Season Round 17: Aabyhoj - Vaerlose 69-60

The game with biggest result difference took place in Aabyhoj. Local Aabyhoj (7-7) beat 5th ranked Vaerlose (4-9) 69-60 on Saturday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-8. But Vaerlose won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aabyhoj dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 24 and made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international forward Caroline Wich (185-96, college: Portland St.) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Emily White (186-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Aabyhoj's coach Thomas Johansen used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International center Julianna Okosun (194-1) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and international swingman Frida Formann (179-1) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Aabyhoj moved-up to third place, which they share with Herlev. Vaerlose at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Aabyhoj is looking forward to face Herlev (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vaerlose will play against the league's leader Horsholm and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
