Important game to mention about took place in Wedel. Second ranked Itzehoe (12-5) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked SC Rist Wedel (9-8) 80-77 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SC Rist Wedel. Itzehoe dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to SC Rist Wedel's 22. American power forward Chris Hooper (198-91, college: St.Francis, NY) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners and Dutch forward Chaed Wellian (204-92, college: Tennessee St.) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Naturalized Nigerian guard Osaro Rich (187-98) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and American point guard Jalen Ross (183-93, college: Hartford) scored 16 points. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. SC Rist Wedel's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Itzehoe keeps a position of North leader, which they share with Schwelm EN. SC Rist Wedel at the other side dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Bochum and Dresden. Itzehoe will play against RSV Eintracht (#12) in Stahnsdorf in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SC Rist Wedel will play on the road against SSV Lok Bernau (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
