There was an upset when higher ranked SparkassenStars (9-8) were outscored by twelfth ranked RSV Eintracht (4-13) in Bochum 99-77 on Sunday. RSV Eintracht dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to SparkassenStars' 26. They outrebounded SparkassenStars 42-27 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mubarak Salami (197-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Sebastian Fuelle (193-92) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. American center Zach Haney (211-96, college: Boise St.) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Croatian guard Marco Buljevic (197-87) added 16 points in the effort for SparkassenStars. Four RSV Eintracht and five SparkassenStars players scored in double figures. Newly promoted RSV Eintracht maintains twelfth place in North with 4-13 record. Loser SparkassenStars dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. RSV Eintracht will face league's leader Itzehoe at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
