Regular Season Round 17: Tuebingen 2 - Idstein 76-75

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Idstein (9-8) against thirteenth ranked Tuebingen 2 (6-10) on Sunday night. Visiting Idstein was edged by Tuebingen 2 in a tough game in Tuebingen 75-76. Tuebingen 2 forced 23 Idstein turnovers. Strangely Idstein outrebounded Tuebingen 2 32-18 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Daniel Zacek (180-1) saved the victory by scoring 19 points and 4 assists. Matti Sorgius (196-1) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Tuebingen 2's coach Manuel Pasios allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Czech Jan Dolejsi (187-92) answered with 24 points and Bosnian center Vedran Mirkovic (202-99) added 21 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) in the effort for Idstein. Tuebingen 2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place in South-West, which they share with Stuttgart. Newly promoted Idstein dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Crailsheim 2. Tuebingen 2 will play against higher ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Idstein will play against TV Langen (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
