Regular Season Round 18: Vaerlose - EBAA 86-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Vaerlose's (7-11) home victory over one of their biggest challengers EBAA (4-13) 86-69 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Vaerlose looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Evan Fisher (206-96, college: Siena) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Austin Pope (198-94, college: Chaminade) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Keane Thomann (211-89, college: Missouri So.) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Marius Kirkholt (183-97) scored 8 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Vaerlose have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-11 record behind leader Randers. Loser EBAA keeps the third place with 13 games lost. Vaerlose will face Copenhagen (#5) on the road in the next round. EBAA will play against the league's leader Wolfpack in Herlev and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
